POS: Only create orders and buzzer prompts for bar and kitchen items

When order functionality is enabled, you can now define which sales should generate orders and trigger buzzer prompts. Order creation can be restricted to sales containing items that require preparation (bar and/or kitchen items), preventing unnecessary orders and buzzer prompts for items that can be provided directly at the POS, such as admission tickets and other items that do not require preparation.

What's new?

  1. A new Create order for setting has been added to the point-of-sale configuration (tab Various), under the existing Enable order functionality setting. This setting determines when an order should be created:

    • All sales (default): Creates an order for every sale.

    • Sales containing kitchen items: Creates an order only when the sale contains at least one kitchen item.

    • Sales containing bar items: Creates an order only when the sale contains at least one bar item.

    • Sales containing bar or kitchen items: Creates an order when the sale contains at least one bar or kitchen item.

  2. The Ask buzzer number in POS functionality has been updated to display the buzzer prompt only when an order is created. As a result, sales that do not generate an order no longer trigger unnecessary buzzer prompts.
