Close cash register automatically after x seconds
Module: Sales admin, POS
Available for: POS (cash register)
Use: You want to make sure that if left unattended, the cash register is automatically locked after a set amount of time to prevent any manipulations by unauthorized individuals.
Define the auto-close time limit (per cashier): module General > Basic data > Employees > Employees > open the employee card > tab Cashier data > subtab Configuration.
Set the setting Automatically close cash register to After x seconds and fill in the number of seconds.
Add the Basket timer element to the POS screen (Modern POS menu layout only): module Sales admin > Settings > Points of sale > open point of sale > tab Various > click Design layout
Note
For other POS menu layouts, the basket timer is available automatically when configured for an employee (cashier).
If the setting on the employee level is set to Never, the progress bar on the basket timer is not visible on the POS screen and the POS remains open.
If the setting on the employee level is set to Directly, the progress bar on the basket timer is not visible on the POS screen and the POS will close automatically after a sale is completed.
If the setting on the employee level is set to After x seconds, the progress bar is visible showing the total number of seconds and counting down. When the timer reaches 0, the POS is closed automatically.
The timer will stop when adding articles to the basket and during the payment. If you delete all articles from the basket, the timer will restart.
