Logging out

It is possible to log out of the mPOS application in either of the two ways.

Keep shift open

The user can log out of the mPOS app even if there are unsettled orders. On the subsequent log-in, the user can continue from where he/she left off and will not be prompted to enter the opening balance again.

Close shift

The user will be required to additionally enter the closing balance of the shift.

However, on the basis of the shift's opening balance and orders placed until logout, the application pre-fills the closing balance amount. The user can change it if required.

On the subsequent log-in, the user will be prompted to enter the opening balance before starting the new shift.

Note

Dependent on the settings at Point of Sale level in the Recreatex desktop application (tab Various > Always print shift report), the user will be prompted to print the shift report after closing the shift.

The printing method defined for checkout in Settings > Printer > Printing instance will be used for printing the shift report. See Printer

Exit the application

It is possible for an mPOS user to exit the application without having to log out.

This can, for example, be useful when the connectivity with the server is interrupted and consequently it is not possible to authenticate the log out PIN with the server, without which a user cannot log out.

Note

For this purpose, the app setting option Lock application exit should be deactivated.

When the user taps on the back button on the bottom panel of the home screen, the mPOS app will prompt to enter the exit PIN.

Enter the exit PIN and tap Exit.

Note

Generally, the exit PIN is known only to the Administrator and is common for all the mPOS users.

The user will be able to continue with the shift upon subsequent log into the mPOS application.
