Client setup
Note
This part of the setup guide is applicable for setting up the Infoplay desktop application.
Depending on the OS of the Windows desktop used for displaying visitor's information, two types of client setups are available:
Windows CE
Client setup for Windows CE
1. Transfer the .Net compact framework 2.0.CAB file on the B&R system running Windows CE using network, RDP or flash card.
2. Transfer the Infoplayclient.CAB file on the B&R system using network, RDP or flash card.
Warning
File transfer using USB is not supported on B&R system.
Install .NET Compact Framework 2.0.CAB and the Infoplayclient.CAB file on the B&R system.
Configure InfoPlay client settings using the Settings .XML file or the configuration tool.
For a description of configuring the settings, see client settings.
Warning
It’s important to know that the internal memory on the B&R system is read-only, meaning the files will be cleared upon reboot and the InfoPlay client will be required to install again.
Language configuration for Infoplay desktop app running on Windows CE
The Infoplay desktop app supports three languages - English, Dutch and French, which can be configured from Client settings. However, when using Windows CE (B&R system), you will be required to take an additional step of installing the installation package of the language of your choice.
1. Run the installation package of the language you wish to use as your Infoplay desktop app language.
For example, for keeping the app language as French, run the installation package InfoPlayClient_FR.
2. Configure the same language in client settings (see General settings).
Continuing the above example, choose fr for the parameter Language in client settings.
Warning
In case of running the Infoplay desktop app on Windows CE, the installed language package and the selected option for the parameter Language in client settings must be the same. If this is not the case, the application will stop working properly.
Windows 8 or 10
Transfer the Syx.InfoPlay.Client.MSI file on the Windows system.
Install the InfoPlay client.
Configure InfoPlay client settings.
For a description of configuring the settings, see client settings.
Warning
The .MSI file can be executed on a desktop having a Windows language pack of English, Dutch or French.
